University Archivist selected as fellow
Aaisha Haykal, CSU University Archivist, was selected as one of the first cohort of twenty IMLS-RBS (Institute of Museum and Library Services-Rare Book School) Fellowships for Early-Career Librarians.
According to the Rare Book School Website this fellowship will allow young professionals to attend an RBS course and to attend the conference of the Rare Books and Manuscripts Section (RBMS) of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL), a division of the ALA. The aim of the program is to help fellows acquire skills relevant to professional work in special collections and build important professional networks. Haykal will be attending a course later in this year and attend the 56th Annual RBMS Conference in Oakland, CA June 23rd through 26th where the theme is Preserve the Humanities! Special Collections as Liberal Arts Laboratory. She will also be presenting at the conference on digital preservation progress and procedures at Chicago State University.
